Georgia Tech Wearable Computing Center Forum 2015

Georgia Tech, Wearable Computing Center from October 02, 2015

For many people working in athlete performance opportunities to take a step back and ask basic questions about how the technologies work don’t really happen. Even for technology vendors, the chance to look ahead, breathe a little and talk about things like usability don’t happen.

This WCC Forum at Georgia Tech is an informal (but still technical and hands-on) discussion of wearables technology. It might be the best chance there is to get your athlete performance technology processes/plans on solid footing. The more people who come out to WCC Forum, the better the discussion becomes and the more everyone can learn.

The Georgia Tech Wearable Computing Center (WCC) is a hub and connection point for wearable technology research. The WCC acts as a conduit between industry and cutting edge interdisciplinary academic research. Wearable computing projects require expertise from many different engineering and design disciplines and the WCC is in a unique position to work across them.

Following last year’s success, the WCC Forum is now an annual endeavor. The WCC Forum is an opportunity to hear from pioneers in wearable technology about the state of the art in the field. Experts in important application areas will also speak to how wearable technology might help solve problems unique to these areas, healthcare or wearables in the workplace for example.

The WCC Forum 2015 takes place on Wednesday, October 21 at The Biltmore, 817 West Peachtree St., starting at 8:30 a.m. Forum attendees are encouraged to spend the afternoon at the GVU Fall Research Showcase (just down the street). Registration for WCC Forum 2015 is $50.

I hope you can make it to Atlanta for WCC Forum 2015. If I can tell you more about it or answer any questions, reach me at brad.stenger@gmail.com. Or contact Maribeth Coleman, maribeth@imtc.gatech.edu, director of Georgia Tech WCC. I attended last year along with ~15 others who work in sports. We’re hoping to see that number double this year.
